MAULDIN, S.C. — Updated: January 17, 2012 Mauldin Police and the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force have arrested the man accused of committing an attempted murder earlier this month. Dameon Marello Davis was arrested Tuesday while leaving an apartment in Greenville.
The Mauldin Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards in law enforcement.
Funds to be used for alcohol countermeasures

The South Carolina Department of Public Safety has awarded the Mauldin Police Department a grant in the amount of $129,449. The money will allow the department to continue alcohol countermeasures that led to a 42.8 percent reduction in injuries as a result of DUI collisions during 2010.
Mauldin Police Officer George Miller was recognized at the monthly city council meeting Monday Night for being named Officer of the Year by Greenville County.
