The Mauldin Police Department is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional standards in law enforcement.
Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA®), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with professional standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. This session will be conducted in the Municipal Court Room, in Mauldin City Hall, located at
5 East Butler Road, Mauldin, South Carolina.
Agency employees and the public are also invited to offer comments by calling (864) 404-3281 on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Telephone comments, as well as appearances at the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with CALEA standards. A copy of the standards is available at the Mauldin Police Department and viewable to the public between the hours of 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Any person wishing to view these standards should contact Captain Roger Tripp at (864) 289-8908 for an appointment.
Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Mauldin Police Department’s ability to meet the CALEA standards may write: Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), 13575 Heathcote Boulevard, Suite 320 Gainesville, Virginia 20155; or call (703) 352-4225 or email email@example.com.
